Transition Skills Summary Preschool report - Summit County
Early learning experiences play an important role in preparing students for future educational success. Understanding where some of our youngest students are in their readiness to enter Kindergarten help us provide the support that’s needed to set students up for success. The Transition Skills Summary (TSS) is one tool that provides a snapshot of a student’s readiness for kindergarten at the end of preschool. TSS results are based on teachers’ observations and reports.
Students can score in one of three categories across five domains: Beginning to develop a particular skill, Developing in skill, and On Track for Success in Kindergarten. The domains represent areas that are important for school readiness.
Below, you will find a summary of student scores on the TSS across Summit County in the spring of 2025. A total of 2017 students were assessed. The table reports the percentage of students who scored in each category across all five domains, along with the county average score.
